Description
Plot Summary
This film is adapted from Nathaniel Philbrick's novel. The story tells of the real maritime disaster experienced by the Essex whaling ship. In 1819, this ship sank in the South Pacific, and the cause of the accident was that it was collided with a whale as big as the one described by Melville in "Moby Dick". The surviving sailors squeezed into three small boats and drifted on the sea for 90 days, experiencing illness, hunger, and ultimately evolving into cannibalism and cannibalism.
