Description

Plot Summary

Jean Fournier is an ordinary employee of a bank. Encouraged by his partner Karon, he came to the Angye Casino with Karon as a weekend pastime. Two hours later, he found that God had opened the door of luck for him. My father, who made a living from handicrafts, felt very sad when he saw him addicted to gambling, but he was powerless. Fornie not only refused his father's persuasion, but also decided to take an immediate vacation to the "Angel Bay" casino in Nice to try his luck again. In front of the turntable, he met a woman named Jackie with light golden hair and fell in love with her at first sight. Jackie is a gambling addict, although she is not indifferent to Fournier's feelings, she first sees Fournier as her lucky star in the casino. Jackie sees gambling as a form of faith, while Fournier only sees it as a numbers game, just a matter of luck. Nevertheless, love still spread between these two gamblers with different behaviors. When Fournier lost interest in this game and decided to return to Paris, Jackie couldn't bear to leave him. In the end, he decided his fate through gambling: whether to go back to Paris with him or stay. Angel Bay "is Demi's second feature film. Due to not being screened in a timely manner, this film is far less famous than his previous films ("Lola") and the latter two ("Umbrella of Cherbourg" and "Miss Rochefort"). This film successfully uses a moving camera to showcase the beautiful scenery of the southern coast of France, with warm light spots jumping on the blue sea surface, making Nana Moro elegant and graceful in a fashionable designer evening gown. This film is full of magical charm, and the director's grasp of rhythm makes the audience feel as if they are in a musical comedy: a beautiful girl is trapped in hell - the casino, and her prince charming tries to save her. While entertaining and entertaining, the film explores the fate, love, and contingency of life. Demi is very good at writing stories, with novel themes, unique characters, and distinctive images. The audience is involuntarily attracted, just like the protagonist is attracted to a casino.
