Description

Plot Summary

Academy Awards: Academy Award - Best Adapted Screenplay (2015; 87th edition) During World War II, the Allies suffered from the German secret system "Ingmar" being unable to decipher. The government summoned a group of civilian mathematicians and logicians to carry out secret decryption work, and Turing (Benedict Cumberbatch) was one of them. At the beginning of the plan, Turing was rejected by his team and leaders led by Matthew Goode. Fortunately, the Minister of Military Intelligence, Menzies (played by Mark Strong), helped him initiate research on a machine for breaking codes, and Turing became the person in charge. He recruited a new member, Keira Knightley, and began the difficult work. Joan quickly became obsessed with Turing, thanks to her unprecedented unity in helping all team members, and successfully cracked the German code two years later. Turing was once engaged to Joan, but in reality he kept a secret because he also suffered inhumane treatment... This film is adapted from Andrew Hodges' "The Life of Alan Turing" and won the Best Adapted Screenplay Award at the 87th Academy Awards after its release.
