Description

Plot Summary

Drug enforcement officer Newlyweds Miguel "Mike" Vargas (Charlton Heston) and his wife Susie (Janet Leigh) arrived at the border between the United States and Mexico. A car explosion occurred on the road, and Vargas believed that the case was related to drug traffickers, so he launched an investigation with local police. Hank Quinlan (played by Orson Welles) is a police captain with a great reputation in the local area. The local police concentrated the suspicion on a person named Sanchez, but Vargas found evidence in Sanchez's home that proved he was not the culprit. However, Quinlan insisted that Sanchez was the culprit. Vargas studied the cases that Quinlan had handled before and had many questions about this renowned police captain. However, Vargas' wife Susie was kidnapped and framed by a group of people in the hotel, and Vargas suspects that Quinlan is behind all of this. What will be the outcome of Vargas' confrontation with Quinlan? This film is written, directed, and performed by Orson Welles, who directed "Citizen Kane". There are three versions: the 1958 release, the 1976 extended version, and the 1998 version discovered to be more in line with Wells' ideas.
